NORTHEAST STEAM COALITION WEBSITE
Northeast STEAM Coalition desired a new website to better serve Portland’s BIPOC youth by providing accessible, engaging, and informative content on STEAM education. The project aimed to facilitate easier navigation for visitors to sign their kids up for STEAM-related camps and for the organization to attract potential funding sponsors to further their mission. Collaborating with a frontend developer, I streamlined the website’s effectiveness in three key ways: (1) optimizing information architecture for intuitive navigation; (2) crafting strategic copy to boost SEO visibility and convey the nonprofit organization’s mission, and; (3) designing visually appealing, responsive high-fidelity UI mockups. The website is still under development and will be launching soon.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
In order to design a more intuitive navigation for website users, we first met with the client to identify their primary goals for the website. We narrowed it down to the following:
   1. Add a calendar to showcase upcoming events, summer camps, and after-school programs
   2. Add form to footer for e-newsletter signups
   3. Add information about the STEAM Makerspace and how to reserve it
   4. Highlight programming, coalition partners, and funders on their own pages
I then crafted a site map that would reorganize the architecture of information on their website based on these priorities, and followed best practices for an intuitive design. I followed this sitemap to develop SEO-rich written content for the website.
